Responsible Tourism

We practice ‘Responsible Tourism’ in both letter and spirit. We have instituted and incorporated a host of active and passive measures to ensure ecofriendly norms and practices with minimum disturbance to the local environ and ecology. A few of these measures are as stated in the succeeding paragraphs.

The infrastructural facilities have been constructed conforming to green building norms and specifications thereby restricting the carbon footprint to bare minimum. The entire construction work has been undertaken by using prefab modules, fly-ash bricks and locally available/ recycled materials. Large windows and skylights have been provisioned in each room to facilitate passive heating and ambient lighting. Centralized Geyser compatible with solar water heating system has been provided to meet the hot water requirement of the guests.

In order to provide an insight in the local culture and tradition of the area, we have included and integrated certain local village houses as part of our extended facility where the guests can have a firsthand experience of living in the hills like a true native. These houses have been preserved and restored in its natural form to retain their originality and rustic charm.

Living to our name “Walk in Woods” and our tagline “Arrive and Revive”, we have established ourselves in offbeat locations amidst the lap of nature which are slightly off route and wherein approach to each location involves a mandatory nature walk. The concept around which our nature resorts are themed mainly involves nature walks, activities and outings focused to unwind and on fully experiencing the astounding nature in the surrounding areas. All the outdoor activities are conducted by the locals who have been inducted into the different wings of hospitability service. Although, not professionally trained and experienced in hospitability sector, they retain their innocence and natural charm which is clearly evident during their interaction with the guests.

For all our outings and treks/walks, we use eco ware plates and glasses which are 100% natural, biodegradable, compostable and easily affordable. We are trying to make all our locations as “No Plastic Zone” and therefore request all the guests to kindly cooperate with us in achieving our noble mission.

For our kitchen, we source all fruits and vegetables locally and all our menu are planned around the availability of seasonal produce. The kitchen waste is systematically segregated and composted and manure from local cowsheds is used to enrich the soil.
